What is figure skating?

Artistic roller figure skating is the sport of performing on quad skates, blending athletic skill, artistry, and music. Skaters are judged on both the content and the manner of their performance.

Disciplines

Singles: solo free skating: jumps, spins, and footwork
Pairs: two skaters performing lifts, throws, and synchronized elements
Figures: the classic school figures: precision tracing on clean edges
Solo Dance: compulsory and free dance performed solo
Team Dance: partnered dance skating
Precision: synchronized team skating
Show skating: theatrical group and solo production numbers
